What’s up everyone!
Welcome back to Week 2. If you read last week’s newsletter, you already know my mission. Grow physically, mentally, spiritually and take you along the ride of building custom homes and building myself here in Puerto Rico.
Personal Growth This Week
Operation Dorado in motion. Here’s how the categories went this week.
One habit I developed this week is to have a good nightly shutdown process, for me it was a breathing exercise called the Wim Hoff breathing session. Here is the Link if you guys want to try it. https://youtu.be/tybOi4hjZFQ?si=yCQgWgbvCxx_PTaE
Physical:
I went to the gym 6 days this week. Locked in.
Ran twice this week. (Cerro Gordo is so beautiful)
Played pickleball once.
Eating cleaner and more consistently.
Weight is up (unsure how much because I still haven’t gotten a scale) but it's progress.
I buzzed my head again so my hair could also have a “restart”
Spiritual:
I didn’t get to make it to church this morning, I wasn’t feeling well this morning.
I prayed three times this week.
Spanish:
Listened to Spanish every day (Jimmy has been showing me a bunch of Puerto Rican bands that I listen to a lot now).
Practiced basic conversation.
Slowly stacking vocabulary though nothing crazy, but I’m getting slightly better at understanding.
Business:
Spent time after hours learning and helping the painters this week. We had 3 guys from Wisconsin fly down to do Limewash in the house, so I worked an extra day yesterday just sanding then painting the walls with primer so the guys would have extra time to do the final product.
Starting to understand the rhythm of construction here.
Small steps add up when you stay consistent, I think I am starting to understand that’s the whole point of Operation Dorado.

Building in Puerto Rico: Week 2
Construction in Puerto Rico is always an adventure.
3 Things I wish I knew before coming out here
How humid it was and what to wear on the jobsite
There is always something to learn
Weather is always a factor
This week’s win: We pushed a lot of momentum on House 193. With the roof pour done last week, the painters being here this week, the floor guys needing to finish the upstairs, the plaster guys doing the outside of the home. This week was about keeping the pace. The upstairs is finally starting to look like a real living space. We also put up two metal frames that are going to be outside patio shades (one is seen in the picture) once we plaster them.
This week’s challenge: Once again the language barrier, but this week I started catching more words and understanding jokes.
Progress > perfection.
Puerto Rico Lifestyle Snapshot
A few moments that stood out this week:
A perfect sunset after a long workday on Saturday.
Taking my Uncle Eric out for his birthday on Thursday to Garden Sushi.
The rain at random times! Still not used to it, but it’s kinda fire.
Another round of Don Taco Dorado because I’m addicted and I had to put the Painters on to Greatness of the Birra Tacos.
Late-night coquí frogs, as always.
The Mass and the beauty of the clouds (seriously they are massive)
This island keeps reminding me to slow down and appreciate the little things.
Favorite Beach Spot So Far

Thought of the Week
“Consistency will beat motivation every single time.”
Operation Dorado is teaching me that already.
What’s Coming Next
Next week I’ll be sharing:
The habit that helped me stay committed this week.
An adventure I went on.
Thanks for tuning in again. Seeing this community grow means a lot.
Let’s keep building.
