What’s up Everyone!

Welcome back to this week’s edition of Brick by Brick.
If you haven’t been following along yet, Brick by Brick is my mission of growth spiritually, mentally, and physically while also taking you along on the journey of building custom homes in Puerto Rico.

This newsletter is to help me track my progress but also, I hope I can inspire people who may feel like they are lost as well.
Let’s get it!

Personal Growth this Week

I have recently started a 90 day challenge I have named Operation Dorado

In Operation Dorado I need to work on 4 categories I’ve chosen

  • Physical: I hit all of my physical goals this week(gym 6x, pickleball 2x, run 2x)

  • Spiritual: I prayed 3 times this week, still trying to figure out my beliefs.

  • Spanish: I downloaded this app and didn’t feel like I was really learning and understanding so I canceled and ordered a workbook. I will continue to use the app Speak to help with my pronunciation, but I think having a physical book will help me as well.

  • Business: This week I was working with the painters that came down from Wisconsin, I was learning how to do their techniques, and also how to properly mix the paint we were using. Overall, a solid work week, it had its ups and down.

Building in Puerto Rico this week: Painting

This week’s big win:
This week, we were continuing to paint and do touch ups around the entire first and second floor. We got almost finished up on Saturday after almost a 10-hour day; all we have left is a little more touch up. (I rewarded myself with a quick trip down to the beach after)

This week’s challenge:
I think the challenge of the week was trying to get the painters done in the time span they were here. We were running against the clock trying to get the drywall/mud guys finished up so we could finish painting, but we were also working around the floor guys who were in cutting up the new floors because a cat came in after it was poured and left paw prints.

A lesson I’ve learned this week that things happen that we sometimes can’t control but it’s how we react that matters.

Lifestyle Snapshot for the week

I just love the sunrise in the morning on the way to work. It truly is one of the best ways to start a day.

A few little moments that stood out to me this week:

  • The green beautiful colors of nature everywhere (the landscapes are magnificent)

  • As annoying as the rain can be sometimes, I love it! It leaves the air with an amazing smell (coming from Arizona we don’t see rain that often)

  • The beach as always

  • The food is so BOMB (one of the electricians got me a burger from some place, arguably one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while) I usually order a plate of food from a Lady named Angie. She brings food to most of the guys.

Also didn’t get to sneak away to any Adventure this week because we were so busy with work.

Something that kept me focused this week

Music has helped me stay consistent this week. I find when I am listening to music I tend to stay locked in and focused. It helped me get to the gym every day this week and also gave me a better mood doing so.

What’s Coming Next

Next week I’ll be sharing:

  • Finishing the last week before returning to Arizona for Christmas

  • My adventure home

nos vemos la próxima semana!
