What’s up Everyone!
Welcome to Brick by Brick this past week has been quite of an adventure… for those who are new, my mission is simple, growing spiritually, mentally, and physically while also taking you along on the journey of building custom homes in Puerto Rico.
Personal Growth this Week
I have recently started a 90 day challenge I have named Operation Dorado
Physical: Huge win this week! I weighed myself at the gym (173lbs gained 12 pounds)
Spiritual: Went to church with my parents this week in Arizona, I got to wear my bright red Santa tie.
Spanish: I listened to something in Spanish for at least 10 minutes everyday (mainly Bad Bunny this week). I also used my AI Spanish learning app, Speak to practice every day this week.
Business: I think a cool skill I learned this week was how to properly mix and do the limewash with the big natural fibers brush.
Building in Puerto Rico
This week’s big win:
I properly mixed and painted 2 of the bedroom’s downstairs with the limewash. I started on the master bathroom upstairs on Wednesday but didn’t get to finish because I need more material. (there is no material on the island so my uncle Eric, might be flying some back with him from Wisconsin)
This week’s challenge:
This week’s challenge for me, wasn’t super challenging physically, It was just SO HOT. I was helping the Plaster/tile guy, Armondo, move the Andiamo (scaffolding) to the final side of the house. After we put the 4 story Andiamo up, I began screwing in mesh paneling into the side of the home so Armondo can begin to plaster. Being on that side of the home is brutal when the sun is out… The humidity has you soaked in 15 minutes
The guys invited me over to their yearly work Christmas party, one of the guys cooked an entire pig in a custom smoker he made himself. The food was incredible!
Puerto Rico Lifestyle Snapshot
One of the nights I went to the gym this week I ran into a new friend.
A few little moments that stood out to me this week:
The sound of coquí frogs at night, I know I’ve already brought this up before but walking back from pickleball or the gym at night and hearing them is so peaceful.
Saturday, I went to my cousin Brandons wedding at our cabin in globe, it was small and just a perfect wedding.
Also got to spend time with my little Bear
