What’s up Everyone!
Welcome to the very first edition of my newsletter. I’m genuinely grateful you’re here. My goal of this is simple. I want to share the things I’m learning as I grow physically, mentally, and spiritually… while also giving you an inside look at what it’s like to build custom homes and explore this beautiful island, Puerto Rico.
This newsletter is to help me track my progress but also, I hope I can inspire people who may feel like they are lost as well.
Let’s get it!
Personal Growth this Week
I have recently started a 90 day challenge I have named Operation Dorado
In Operation Dorado I need to work on 4 categories I’ve chosen
Physical: 1. Gain 10lbs(I think I’ve already done that). 2. Play pickleball at least 1x a week. 3. Run 2-3 times a week. 4. lift/workout 5-7 times a week. 5. eat healthy(meal prep).
Spiritual: 1. Consistently go to church weekly with my aunt and uncle. 2. studying and pray 1-2 times a week
Spanish: 1. Learn greetings, basics of conversation, and the most important 100 words 2. listen to something in Spanish for 10 minutes a day. 3. Use an AI Spanish learning app to practice.
Business: 1. Advance my knowledge of building to become more valuable to my boss and the company by studying important aspects of the business after hours
None of this is perfect or special, but it’s consistent. And consistency is where real transformation starts.
Building in Puerto Rico: Behind the Scenes
If you’ve ever been curious what it’s like to build custom homes in Puerto Rico… let’s just say it’s nothing like Arizona.
This week’s big win:
This week we poured the concrete for the roof of the new addition upstairs on house 193, that was a huge win because we are needing to be done with the home by Dec 15th. By us pouring that it will allow us to finish up the rest of the home while that concrete cure.
This week’s challenge:
I think the challenge of the week was coming back to work on Friday after thanksgiving the day before. Not really, I think the true challenge I face every day is the language barrier I have with the guys.
Everyday teaches me something new and the reminder that all great things take time.
Puerto Rico Lifestyle Snapshot
One thing I love about living here is how the island naturally gives me peace.
A few little moments that stood out to me this week:
The sound of coquí frogs at night — seriously, if you know, you know.
A random rain shower followed by a rainbow
Fresh local Mega Shrimp Tacos.
People who greet you like old friends even if they’ve never met you (seriously love the people down here already)
The beaches as always
Puerto Rico has a way of grounding you and inspiring you at the same time.
Thought of the Week
"Even in the material world, you will find that if you look for the light, you can often find it. But if you look for the dark, that is all you will ever see." - Uncle Iroh
What’s Coming Next
